"Daghters Of The Sage" oil painting by Karen Chatham recently won the Award of Merit at the 2023 Spirit Of The West Art Show. It is painted from my original photography of the wild mustang mares of the Salt Wells herds in Wyoming, where I love to travel to see and photograph the wild horses every summer that I can.
Southwestern Artist, Karen Kennedy Chatham, is a realistic and abstract painter of wild mustang horses, Texas longhorn cattle, western cowboys, Native American culture, landscapes and radiant florals. Her mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. Born a native Texan, Karen lives in Paradise, Tx has a deep love for western culture and her favorite subjects are the horses. Karen has recently been exploring new abstract/semi abstract techniques that are radiant in color, rich in Spirit, and full of positive emotion. *Student of James R.
